Position: Data Entry/Front Desk Receptionist

Key Responsibilities
Front Desk and Discovery Resource Center (DRC) Operations:
  • Open and close the M&FRC Front Desk and DRC, including turning on/off equipment, stocking printers, and maintaining a clean, professional environment.
  • Greet and log customers into AFFIRST, administer Personnel Readiness Inventory (PRI) or other assessment tools, and provide Statement of Understanding forms.
  • Inventory computer equipment at the start and end of each shift, reporting any loss or damage within 30 minutes.
  • Perform daily housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, cleaning surfaces, and organizing materials.
Customer Service and Information & Referral (I&R):
  • Assist walk-in and phone customers with information on M&FRC services, including financial education, transition assistance, careers, spouse employment, relocation, and family readiness.
  • Provide knowledgeable referrals to agencies listed in the DRC, MilitaryHomefront.dod.mil, and MilitaryOneSource.com.
  • Answer phone calls within three rings, assist with class scheduling, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Assist clients with basic computer use, including job applications, resumes, and printing.
Transition Assistance Program (TAP):
  • Accurately collect, input, and track TAP data, including DD Form 2648, workshop rosters, and materials inventory in AFFIRST and DMDC.OSD.MIL.
  • Coordinate with TAP Core Compliance Expert to manage workshop registrations and statistical reports.
Administrative Duties:
  • Input and track DRC visits in AFFIRST, maintain sign-in logs, and document resource usage.
  • Check in/out resource materials, verify patron eligibility, and follow up on overdue items.
  • Perform general maintenance on non-network computers, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure printers are stocked.
  • Attend and record weekly M&FRC staff meetings, providing typed minutes within two working days.
  • Comply with AFI 33-322 (Records Management), AFI 33-332 (Privacy Act), and DoD Regulation 5400.7 (FOIA).
Additional Tasks:
  • Conduct quarterly instructional classes on basic computer and Microsoft Office usage, including two evening sessions.
  • Issue vouchers for special programs (e.g., Car Care) and assist with faxing approved documents.
  • Clear user CAC/PKI certificates and temporary Internet files weekly.
  • Maintain job listing boards by posting new listings and purging outdated ones weekly.

Qualifications
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
  • Competent in operating Dell-compatible computers and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic communication skills for interacting with diverse patrons.
  • Understanding of military protocol, family systems, and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Satisfactory punctuality and attendance record per commercial standards.
  • Ability to obtain a favorable National Agency Clearance (NAC) for CAC card and LAN access.
Preferred:
  • Minimum 12 credit hours in social sciences/social work or prior experience in an Air Force M&FRC.
